RAWR!!! The Gig (2nd Oct)

The first of many gigs to come, RAWR! The Gig features a good mix of bands in the Malaysian music scene coming together for a great party. Organized by pop punk/easycore heavyweight, An Honest Mistake, this is a gig that you don't wanna miss!

The goal is to feature budding talents in the scene by creating a platform for them to showcase their music, as well as to promote themselves. Being acoustic-based, the barrier of ...audience-artiste will be brought closer, if not 'disappear'; to a place of intimacy.

The first will feature:

An Honest Mistake
For This Cycle (SG)
Eshia
Once Upon A Time There Was A Sausage Named Bob
Fragments & Frictions
Rosevelt
Eve
Dichi Michi
A Ruthless Cleansing
2 Storey Heart

Open Mic #14 featuring Min'z - 15th Sept 2010

Open Mic is back to Laila's for the 14th session!

This time, our featured singer is MIN'Z.
Soulful singer-songwriter, Min'z (pronounced as min-zee), is a 21-year-old who channels her every emotion and thoughts through the inspirational and soul-tugging words that builds up into songs, succesfully touching many.

Charcoaled Firefly (2010) is her debut EP, featuring original tracks recorded in Studio.MB, Singapore. Made up of a combination of folk, pop and soul, Min'z sprinkles her own flavour all over her songs and makes it distinctively her own. Not unlike Dido, Sarah Mclachlan, the Corrs and even a female version of James Blunt, Min'z will be showcasing her talents right here at Laila's.

The other talented singer/song writers are:

9.00pm : Anuar Faiq (acoustic experimental)
9.30pm : Lisa J Ariffin & Jiah Lit Ho (acoustic pop)
10.00pm : Ian Tai (acoustic pop)
10.30pm : Paolo Delfino (folk)
11.00pm : Min'z (folk & soul)
11.30pm : Shaneil Ramon Paul Johns Devaser & friends

Cover: RM 10 or RM 20(with EP by Min'z : Charcoaled Firefly)
(if you can support Starbucks, you can support local singers for RM 10)

Come early and have dinner at Laila's Cafe & Lounge. Home cooked set dinners from just RM 12+ (Drink + Main Course).

Planning a party ? Premium bottles at just RM 230+ each! Call for details!

To book a slot or table, please email Ramesh at ramesh.vadiveloo@gmail.com or call him at 012.2928.096
